World Cancer Day is marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. To raise awareness and educate our students about cancer, Presidium held a seminar on “Cancer Awareness” for grade 6-9 by the Faculty of Science. Various awareness activities regarding cancer types, causes, and prevention were explained to the students. The thought for the day was based on the importance of life. ‘Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it’. A short speech on ‘why we celebrate World Cancer Day’ was also delivered. The seminar mainly focused on cancer-causing foods like chips, coke, processed meat, etc; to create awareness about the risk factors associated with these types of food items.
