Presidians celebrated Children’s day with great festive fervour, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was extremely fond of children; the program depicted the spirit of the occasion. The children’s day programme had a series of interesting and exciting events, all planned meticulously for complete entertainment. The programme began with a special assembly conducted by the teachers, followed by an informative and inspirational speech by the teachers about the great leader, thinker, visionary, and a true statesman – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. To make the day more memorable and entertaining, the school also celebrated ‘Fancy Dress Day.’ It proved to be a memorable day for the students with such a vast arena of cultural events and fun-filled activities.

Maps represent the real world on a much smaller scale. They help us travel from one location to another. A map activity was conducted in Grade-X of Presidium to help students synthesize and integrate information, ideas, and concepts. The topic of this activity was ‘Locating and labeling of ports and International airports.’ This activity was held virtually on MS Teams. On the political map of India, students marked the Ports and International airports. During this activity, students noticed how the seaports are essential interfaces in the supply chain between sea and land transportation, and it also facilitates goods movement through export and import; and International airports bring a lot of foreign exchange and connect India to worldwide. It was a fun-filled activity, and students learned a lot from it.

Presidium strongly emphasizes Experiential Learning and encourages the use of tools and techniques to implement it. Keeping the same view in mind and to promote the use of innovative ways of understanding the mathematical concepts and reasoning of Addition and Subtraction of Decimals at Tenth Place, Presidium organized a Maths Activity for the students of Grade 6. The activity aimed to promote critical thinking and problem-solving in the classroom with graph sheets and colors to easily and creatively understand and solve the Decimal numbers at the tenth place. Students thoroughly enjoyed the activity as it fostered their analytical skills. Students felt that learning through this approach was quite a fun experience and felt confident about the subject, thus eliminating mathematics fear.

Presidians enthusiastically participated in the world heart day celebration and learned how our heart is an essential part of our body. Students learned the importance of developing a healthy lifestyle, why they should avoid junk and oily food, etc. They understood that oily and junk foods are bad compromises. Opting for a balanced diet with a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise is a must for everybody. By making just a few small changes to our lives, we can reduce our risk of heart disease and stroke, as well as improving our quality of life.

To be born as a girl child is a unique blessing in itself and hence gives a reason to celebrate. To highlight this fact, an entire day is dedicated to the girls, celebrated as Daughter's Day. To erase the stigma that daughters are a burden, Presidium honoured the females' existence and marked the occasion of being blessed by a daughter's love and affection and realizing that daughters are a reason to celebrate. They bring happiness and prosperity in the lives of their parents. Parents enjoyed with their daughters to make them feel special and realize that they are the angels, precious gifts of God. They were pampered and showered love through different activities like cooking, indoor picnic, art and craft activities, and many more. Therefore, especially on this occasion, shower your love and blessings on all the daughters around.

The importance of reading cannot be underestimated, as reading stretches the child’s mind and introduces him/her to the world of wonder that is literature. Presidium organized an English Reading Competition for Grade-II students wherein they were asked to read stories from their English Term-1 book. Choosing and preparing a short passage within 2 minutes motivated them to explore literature actively. Furthermore, the competition encouraged students to practice pronunciation and patient listening. They read out their stories with clear articulation, correct accentuation, and voice modulation.
