PRESIDIANS MARK WORLD WATER DAY WITH A HANDFUL OF ACTIVITIES

World Water Day was celebrated by Presidium by teaching the students the importance of water conservation in water-scant countries of the world. Teachers delivered an awareness talk on the issue of the shortage of drinking water and its contaminants. They also spoke to the students on daily attitudes and practices that contribute to saving water. Students made posters on the importance of good hygiene, sanitation, and conservation of water.

HOLI HAI! PRESIDIANS SPREAD THE COLORS OF JOY & HAPPINESS!

The most colourful and vibrant festival of India – Holi was celebrated with a splash of colours at Presidium. The atmosphere was marked with fun and fervour as the students celebrated this vibrant festival. The school following the green and global practices had arranged for safe organic herbal Holi colours. The academic courtyard was an amalgamation of enthused students who also sprinkled colours on teachers. Holi is the festival that commemorates the victory of good over evil, brought about by the burning and destruction of the evil demon named Holika. So the spirit of Holi taught the students to follow good conduct in life and believe in the virtue of being truthful and honest. The festival marks the end of winter and the abundance of the upcoming spring harvest season. The students welcomed spring, the season of hope with songs, dance, and bright colours which were the major highlights of this vivid and lively festival.

IMMUNIZATION DAY: PRESIDIANS PROMOTE THE USE OF VACCINES

Presidium celebrated National Immunization Day with the aim to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against multiple diseases. There are still nearly 20 million children in the world today who are not getting the vaccines they need. Teachers highlighted the importance of the day and also made the children aware of the importance of vaccines against smallpox, measles, polio, etc. Students had shown their vaccination certificates as well.

AN EDUCATIVE ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR THE PARENTS & STUDENTS

“A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the center of our universe.”
Welcoming parents to the new academic session, our School Head, along with Academic in-charges spoke at length about the benefits of effective communication between parents and teachers; they emphasized how in Presidium a child learns through experience from the initial stages. The differences between rote and experiential learning was also explained to the parents. A few tips on good parenting were also shared. The orientation program proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children through their academics in the right manner.

STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN MARATHON WITH SHEER ENTHUSIASM

A Marathon Race was organized by Presidium. Students displayed a lot of enthusiasm to walk, run or jog. It brought a spark in them. The Marathon Run helped the students to build fitness and healthy habits for life. These student runners were also learning to set goals and work steadily toward them as they value others' achievements in the same process. Developing such important life skills from an early age will benefit everyone, not just as individuals, but as a community.

STUDENTS ACKNOWLEDGE THE IMPERATIVE ROLE OF WOMEN IN OUR SOCIETY

International Women's Day was celebrated by Presidians to recognize the contribution and significance of the women. During their virtual class, all the moms participated and the celebration began with a song dedicated to women presented by students. It was followed by making cards, badges by them. The presentation highlighted the message about the competency of women, Intellectual capacity of women as capable of holding high responsibility as efficiently as men can do. All the students thanked their moms for their superpowers.

STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF DOING YOGA

Yoga Day was celebrated by the students and teachers at Presidium, with great enthusiasm. Students demonstrated various asanas followed by Omkar chanting. Warm-up exercises were done and all the students performed various asanas and the importance of these were explained simultaneously. The session concluded with the synchronized recitation of shlokas and the importance of yoga in our life. The students were encouraged to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.

Maha Shivratri was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour at Presidium. The day marks a remembrance of overcoming darkness and ignorance. The students initiated the occasion by offering prayers to Lord Shiva and family. The tiny tots dressed up in beautiful Lord Shiva attire. Beautiful Trishuls and Damrus were made to venerate Lord Shiva. The teachers applauded the students for their efforts to make everyone spiritually energized and enlightened.

PRESIDIANS MARK NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY WITH ENTHUSIASM

Presidium celebrated National Science Day to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist C.V. Raman. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 for his discovery. Students enjoyed Science Day by performing experiments in both Chemistry and Physics. They performed Redox titration in Chemistry and found the molarity and strength of potassium permanganate by titrating it against M/20 Oxalic acid. After the experiment, students understood that they can accurately determine the concentration of an unknown analyzer by measuring it against a standardized titrant. While in Physics they found the focal length of the convex lens and learned to find the radius of the curvature and aperture of the lens and observed the position of image formation.

ROLE PLAY COMPETITION: STUDENTS ENTHRALL WITH THEIR CONFIDENCE

“Children are great imitators, give them something great to imitate.”
Keeping the above in mind Presidium, organized a Role Play activity wherein students got an opportunity to imitate different characters. It offered a chance to the participants to gain experience, showcase speaking and presentation skills, and uncover personal aptitude. The objective of this competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the little ones. The excitement of our young actors knew no bounds as they waited eagerly for their turn to perform. Resplendent in their costumes and glowing in all their finery, they emulated their renowned characters with confidence and passion.
