On the special ocassion of World Dance Day, Presidium Raj Nagar was soaked in a meditative experience at Nrityanjali - the SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) Festival. Students got a wonderful opportunity to witness a pioneer of Classical Dance - Mahua Shankar Ji performing live in the campus. Mahua Shankar Ji is a classical Kathak danseuse and a disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj who presented a classical amalgamation of music and dance. The artists presented a soulful Kanha Vandana which was followed by a series of Mudras and Bhava-Abhinaya depicted aesthetically by Mahua Ji. The maestros enlightened the students with the essence of rhythm and beats by giving examples from our quotidian life and hence providing an exposure of the ancient dance form in a subtle manner.
