The importance of reading cannot be underestimated, as reading stretches the child’s mind and introduces him/her to the world of wonder that is literature. Presidium organized an English Reading Competition for Grade-II students wherein they were asked to read stories from their English Term-1 book. Choosing and preparing a short passage within 2 minutes motivated them to explore literature actively. Furthermore, the competition encouraged students to practice pronunciation and patient listening. They read out their stories with clear articulation, correct accentuation, and voice modulation.
