World Cancer Day is marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. To raise awareness and educate our students about cancer, Presidium held a seminar on “Cancer Awareness” for grade 6-9 by the Faculty of Science. Various awareness activities regarding cancer types, causes, and prevention were explained to the students. The thought for the day was based on the importance of life. ‘Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it’. A short speech on ‘why we celebrate World Cancer Day’ was also delivered. The seminar mainly focused on cancer-causing foods like chips, coke, processed meat, etc; to create awareness about the risk factors associated with these types of food items.

There may be people that have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do. Proving their mettle yet again, Presidians performed extraordinarily in the Skating Competition of the Inter-School Sports Championship 2020 held at Dr. Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir School. Vipransh Sharma of Grade 1D won a Silver medal in the Group of Under 6(Boys). Manvi Tyagi of Grade 3C won a Bronze medal in the Group of Under 8(Girls). Anushka Singh of Grade 6A won a Gold medal in the Group of Under 12(Girls). Aditya Kumar of Grade 6B won a Bronze medal in the Group of Under 12(Boys). With such an amazing start to 2020, we are sure the students are going to take their zeal to the next level.

Presidium strongly emphasizes Experiential Learning and encourages the use of tools and techniques to implement it. Keeping the same view in mind and to keep the students acquainted with technology and innovations in the world, Presidium organised a Robotics Activity for students of Grade 4 onwards. The activity aimed to promote use of technology and knowledge to make a Robotic Bulldozer by attaching a motor organs and Remote control. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by students as it fostered their analytical skills and application of Robotics tools and kit. Students felt that learning through this approach was quite an amusing experience and felt confident about the learning.

The 71st Republic Day of India was celebrated at Presidium with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervor. The day began with the Addressing of the Chief Guest by the Anchors, followed by the release of tricolor balloons fluttering in the air by the Honourable Guest and Head Of School, Presidium. The entire school courtyard reverberated with the rhythmic beats of a patriotic song and the Nursery students dancing to it with the tricolor flags fluttering in the air. A broad smile could be seen on everyone’s face when the excited nursery students saw the tri-colored helium balloons in the air. A blend of Classical and Western dance, was performed by the young Presidians. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks by our Guest and a very inspiring speech given by the Head of School, Mrs. Shradha Agarwal Ma'am. She passionately spoke about 'Unity In Diversity' believing in the ethos of ‘one faith, one religion.’

Under the theme Travel, students of Grade 2 enthusiastically participated in an activity wherein they shared their experiences of visiting various places during vacations. They also enjoyed identifying, coloring and pasting pictures of different modes of transport i.e land, air and water on chart paper in groups. This activity helped them to take initiatives to share their feelings and to work in groups as a team. They also developed a special bond with their classmates.

Preparing an advertisement for a product involves principles of Management, which includes qualities like teamwork, creativity, imagination, choice of product, etc. The Ad Mad Show competition is the perfect platform to display that you have the knack to advertise and win hearts. With this thought in mind, An Ad-Mad Competition was held for the students of grade IV and V in Presidium. Students presented Ads wherein they used their extraordinary skills and imagination to make it interesting. They were marked on the following criteria- Creativity, originality, content, confidence, expressions, costumes and props. The excitement level of the children reached sky-high while preparing for the contest. It not only displayed their acting skills but also the impromptu ability to use cognitive skills. All the classes came up with exhilarating performance.
