DUSSEHRA: PRESIDIANS GLORIFY THE MYTHOLOGY OF INDIA

India is a land of multicultural and multilingual people, thus the festivals here are celebrated in various ways in different parts of the country. The celebration of Dussehra indicates the victory of Lord Rama over the demon Ravana. To intrigue the students about the mythological history and culture, Presidium cataloged a special assembly on Dussehra. Students performed a dance. Then they pulled off the celebration with a skit on the special occasion. The day provided an opportunity for the young Presidians to have a positive take on the Indian festivals.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF ‘SABARMATI KE SANT’

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of our nation-Mahatma Gandhi. Presidians celebrated his birthday with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. A special assembly began with a rendition of Bapu's favorite devotional song Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram. His thoughts and ideals of life were expressed in the form of a speech and a group song ‘sabarmati ke sant’. This was followed by a presentation to highlight the values and the ethics he strived to inculcate in society. Presidians came dressed in khadi and cotton kurta pajamas as a mark of Bapu. Later, the students made the spinning wheel in their activity sheets as classroom activity.

FUN RACES PUMP UP THE ENERGY LEVELS OF PRESIDIANS

‘All work and no play makes jack a dull boy’. This holds true even for the young learners of Presidium. Keeping this in view, students of grades nursery and prep participated in fun races. Various fun races such as clown race, lemon race, sack race, cap and goggle races etc were organised for the students .The students had a good time and felt rejuvenated and sporty all day.

World heart day is celebrated on 29 September all over the world. Presidians enthusiastically participated in World Heart Day celebration and learned how keeping our health healthy is one of the main priorities when its comes to healthy living. Students learned to develop a healthy lifestyle, avoid junk and oily food. They understood that oily and junk foods are bad compromises. Opting for a balanced diet with a minimum of 30 minutes exercise is a must for everybody.

LITTLE FEET GROOVE WITH JOY AT HAPPY FEET DANCE COMPETITION

With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students, a Happy Feet Dance Competition was organized by Presidium for students of grade nursery and prep. The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The fun filled extravaganza event witnessed classical, traditional and western dance forms. All the participants were very energetic and performed their dance forms enthusiastically. They dressed beautifully according to their songs. Young dancers were thrilled to be a part of colorful, vibrant and energizing event. Some dancers even made use of interesting props like hats, chairs and sticks. The happiness of the students was amply evident with applause and appreciation.

Daughter’s Day is an occasion to honor the girl child and gave her the respect and promise of care she deserves. This is the day to remind the world of how precious a daughter is. Students enthusiastically participated in the theatre act -‘BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO’ wherein they acted to showcase the equal importance of girls. Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. International Day of Peace seeks to promote peace among nations and people. A badge making activity was conducted for students of grade nursery to 3. They made the symbol of peace, a dove with an olive branch to spread the message of peace. A dove represents ‘hope for peace’ or a peace offering from one person to another. These worthy messages in the form of symbols is quite significant.

YOUNG DEVOTEES VISIT SACRED RELIGIOUS PLACES

Raising children of different religions together, under one roof, make things interesting. It’s a great learning experience for them when they start sharing and exchange each other’s culture. The students become aware when they are taken to a new religious place and are shown the different places of worship. Presidians of grade 3 visited a Gurudwara, a Mosque and a Temple. This visit helped them to enhance their observation and communication skills. They also realized the significance of religious places in people’s life. The children acquired the knowledge of the different ways in which the particular people greet and wish each other, how they offer their prayers to God, what they wear, etc. The children also learned the symbols and names of the religion to which they belong to.

हैं हिंदी भारतीय सविंधान में शामिल भाषाओं में से एक है | १३ सितम्बर १९४९ के दिन हिंदी को राजभाषा का दर्जा
मिला था | तब से हर साल ये दिन ‘ हिंदी दिवस ‘ के रूप में मनाया जाता है | कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत विभिन्न कक्षाओं के विद्यार्थियों ने कविता, श्लोक, नृत्य – गीत आदि कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किये, जिसे देखकर सभी भावविभोर हो उठे | कार्यक्रम के अंत में विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या ने बच्चों के कार्यक्रम की सराहना करते हुए उन्हें अंग्रेजी भाषा के साथ-साथ शुद्ध हिंदी भाषा बोलने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया व बच्चों से कहा कि हमें भारतीय होने के नाते अपनी राष्ट्र भाषा पर गर्व महसूस करना चाहिए |

related to their interests. The children become intense when they are taken to a new level to
explore and are shown the different ways of doing it. Presidium, Rajnagar organised an event on Engineer’s Day to celebrate the skills and talent of their children through the activity of building and balancing. They were given to build a “Tower of Terror” with the help of glasses and paper plates. This enhanced their observation and communication skills. They also realised the significance of building and inventing.
