The patriotic fervor is at its peak on occasions like International Day of Democracy. With an aim to keep up with this spirit of patriotism, Presidium Raj Nagar celebrated this day with grandeur and solemnity. The celebrations began with a zestful participation of grade 3 students in the assembly wherein they presented speeches on democracy and its importance. This event motivated the young leaders of tomorrow to keep up with the spirit of democracy and take India to the path of success and prosperity with their hard work and perseverance.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT COMMUNICATION THROUGH A HINDI ACTIVITY

“People can’t hear what you don’t say. Thinking isn’t communicating.” So, one needs to
communicate in order to make himself audible to others and one needs to be strong enough to
communicate so as to portray his thoughts correctly. In order to enhance the communication
skills of the students, a picture description activity was held in the school for class 5. Students
were asked to describe a picture given in their Hindi textbooks. One by one, all the students
after seeing the picture carefully, described it in their own words. All the students were
excited to perform the activity and were able to describe the picture in detail. Thus, picture description activity was an accomplishment as through this activity students were not only able to present their thoughts but also improved their communication skills.

September 8 is the day to remember the importance of literacy for individuals and communities
around the world. This day is celebrated all around the world to spread awareness about the importance of literacy to individuals, society, and communities. To mark Literacy Day, specific events were held at Presidium Rajnagar. Young Presidians of Grade 1 to 3 enjoyed poster making  to propagate the message of literacy. An activity by helper staff of school focusing on building awareness on education was also performed to understand the basics of life necessities. So let’s pledge on this literacy day, we learn, we teach, we inspire, to make our future full of knowledge and success.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE GANESH CHATURTHI IN AN ECO-FRIENDLY WAY

Festivals build group cohesiveness. Of all festivals Ganesh Chaturthi is the most colourful. It is celebrated with much fervor and joy.The Presidium family took the role of torch bearers paved the way for an eco-friendly way to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. On this auspicious day, all the children of pre-primary section came to school in colorful dresses. The festivities started with the traditional 
Ganesh pooja, followed by a melodious devotional song and a dance performed by the children. 
A skit based on the life of Ganesha was enacted very beautifully by the teachers. The whole atmosphere was charged with festivity. The entire celebration commencing from Ganpati Sthapana to Visarjan was a thought provoking one like banning the use of plaster of paris and immersion in lakes or ponds. The students were explained about the significance of the festival and emphasised on eco-friendly ways of celebrating the festival. The ceremony was ended with great joy, 
happiness and devotion towards Lord Vinayaka.

STUDENTS WRITE STORIES IN A HINDI SUBJECT ACTIVITY

For the overall development of self-expression in writing, Presidium conducted a Hindi subject activity. Students of grade 7 were given colorful sheets. Audio visual aids were used to conduct the activity. Students were shown different pictures on the smart board. On the basis of that they were made to write a story according to their imagination. According to the given instructions it was mandatory for the students to use different phrases and idioms in the story. Students also elaborated the story by enrichment of the points inclusive of the moral values. They participated with energetic spirit of participation. Along with that usage of appropriate grammar, idioms, phrases, etc. created an effective presentation by the students.

QUIZ COMPETITION EXPOSES STUDENTS TO NEW FACTS

“Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice.” Keeping this thought in mind, an Inter- Class General Knowledge Quiz Competition was organized for Grades 1 to 3. There were four interesting rounds in the Quiz - Content and Knowledge Round, Audio-Visual Round, General awareness Round and Rapid-Fire Round. The young Presidians participated in teams as well as individually. Every round was a mixed bag with questions from Current affairs, sports, etc. The final round, the Rapid-fire round gave the teams a chance to catch up with leaders and put-up a tough fight. The aim of the competition was to settle the curiosity of the students and expose them to new facts of the general awareness. It was a wonderful learning experience not only for the participants but also for the audience.

CELEBRATING THE GLORY OF SPORTS ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY

Sports: an integral part of Indian culture and the history of Indian sports dates back to the Vedic era. As per saying in Atharva-Veda, “Duty is in my right hand and the fruits of victory in my left”. By keeping this quote in mind, Presidium inculcates the feeling of sportsmanship in every Presidian. The mantra that Presidians follow coincides with today’s traditional Olympic oath, “For the Honour of my country and the Glory of Sport”.Students of Presidium Raj Nagar celebrated National Sports Day to mark the birth anniversary of Indian hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand, the hockey player who won gold decorations in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1934 and 1936. A speech was delivered to instil in every Presidian team-spirit which fosters Leadership. Various sports events were conducted in the school premises including Yoga. Students along with the teachers participated with great zeal and enthusiasm in the events. The event proceeded with a vivacious dance performance.

EUPHORIC JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS AT PRESIDIUM

To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at Presidium by students of Grade Nursery and Prep as well as 4th and 5th . To celebrate the extraordinary bond between the children and the Almighty, Presidium school took the opportunity to both jubilate and learn with young minds. The students dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha. The premise was decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with jhankis depicting life history of Lord Krishna. The assembly continued with a fancy dress competition in which students gave short message regarding the celebration of janmashtami. The purpose of the flamboyant celebration was to inculcate the value of sharing and respect in students. The main attraction of the celebration was breaking of the treasure filled matki.

SUDHA MA’AM JOINS PRESIDIANS FOR JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS

To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Presidium school Raj Nagar was joined by our Honourable Mrs. Sudha Gupta on Janmashtami. The main aim of the celebration was to spread awareness among the Presidians about the end of darkness and rooting out of the evil forces dominating the earth, which was initiated by the incarnation of Lord Krishna. Students won the heart of Sudha Ma’am by enacting various roles from Sri Krishna’s life. Ma’am blessed all the students on this auspicious day and gave them a message as always, looking ahead instead of reminiscing the past. Her words truly summed up the efficacy of celebration of festivals and showing obedience towards elders and teachers.
