Presidium.The little ones dressed in yellow were seen swaying all over the school participating in fun activities like craft, story sessions, treasure hunt, munching yummy treats and smiling
to the cameras. The day started with a general conversation about the king of fruits- Mango, followed by rhymes and singing session which the kids enjoyed thoroughly. Teachers briefed the
students about its being the king of fruits, not only for its taste and fleshy yellow colour but also, for the nutrients it offers like- vitamin-C and vitamin-A. This fibrous fruit boosts our digestive system and prevents from getting heat- stroke. They were also told about the various forms of its consumption such as- mango shake, ice cream, jam, pickle, chutney etc.

THE SCHOOL ATRIUM ENLIVENS WITH EID CELEBRATIONS

Presidium believes that the students should become global citizens while retaining their traditional values. A celebration in the form of special assemblies is an effort to sensitize students towards living in harmony in a diverse society. Eid, a celebration of joy, sharing and gratitude, was recently celebrated at Presidium. The celebrations began with an informative presentation for the students to learn the importance and the subsequent celebration of Eid. Students enjoyed a lively performance of song and dance performed by young Presidians. The entire school gathered at the atrium to celebrate the spirit of joy and peace. The assembly ended up with students wishing “Eid Mubarak” to all.

LEARNING ABOUT THE MEANS OF COMMUNICATION WITH A FUN ACTIVITY

Presidium Raj Nagar recently conducted a social science activity on the theme - ‘Communication’. Students learned the importance and different means of communication. They came to know about the traditional means of Communication like puppet shows, Kawad, Pandavani etc. They used the chart papers, colours, clay and thermocol and prepared beautiful charts and models on different means of Communication and explained their respective charts and projects. They also understood the difference between Modern and Traditional means of Communication, Print and Electronic media, Editors and Reporters etc.

CELEBRATING THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF FRIENDSHIP ON FRIENDSHIP DAY

“A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten words”. Having a true friend is one of the most precious gifts one can ever possess in their life. Presidium celebrated Friendship Day in school to encourage all students to instill the spirit of friendship in every relationship. The little Presidians celebrated Friendship Day through wishes, messages, parties, friendship day gifts and bands. The celebration was indeed a great initiative to hone the emotional and social skills among young ones.

We all love superheroes and we can't deny that they certainly are popular right now especially with are kids at school. With this idea Presidium organized a ‘superheroes’ activity wherein our little Presidians came dressed in superhero costumes. Keeping in mind that children will learn most when they are having fun, it was a great sight to witness as they expressed confidently about the hero they were representing. It was great activity to promote the use of juicy adjectives and to dig deeper into self-awareness and literary characters.

CELEBRATING THE CULINARY DIVERSITY OF INDIA AT FOOD FAIR

Unity in diversity is not just a constitutional value but a very essential value for children. It is essential for children to accept the fact that society is not homogeneous. Our curriculum lays special emphasis upon including this diversity in classroom teaching and makes it a crucial aspect of teaching. This makes children accept their social and cultural environment and develop respect for it. One aspect of diversity is ‘food’. Different regions of India have different food items. In order to inculcate a sharing habit and to make them aware about the Culinary diversity, a Food Fair was organized in the school by the students of Grade 3 wherein they brought traditional dishes from their homes. They witnessed variety of foods from different States like Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Bihar etc. They beautify their food through presenting regional dishes, as well as explaining about them. They were dressed up traditionally. Food and celebrations unite people in the same family . It was a wonderful experience for the little Presidians.

excited about learning than with hands-on activities and science experiments. Students of
Grade 9 and 10 of Presidium Raj Nagar had a great time learning about Electricity and Component of Dyes, whether it was as common as Pen ink or as unique as Chlorophyll, changing the resistance to setting a circuit, cutting the paper to extracting the pigment, they did it all on their own, with all the precautions needed which was actually a great exposure and opportunity.

CELEBRATING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF MARTYRS ON KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

“Standing beside each one of our brave soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines is a loving,
supportive, and dedicated family whose sacrifice is a true service to our great nation”. Thus,
in order to pay tribute to our brave soldiers a special assembly was conducted. Through this
assembly we paid homage to the soldiers who lost their lives in Operation Vijay, based on
which Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated. The assembly started with a prayer to almighty, followed by news and the thought of the day. After this, a student sang a beautiful song recalling the sacrifice of our Indian soldiers. The song had an impregnable impact on the students and the teachers. Then the young Presidians gave a marvellous dance performance which gave cold shivers to each viewer. The performance arose the passion and fire among the viewers and the endless love for the country.

A GARDEN OF GOOD MANNERS: INSTILLING VALUES FOR LIFE!

Good manners is about considering the feelings of other people, and being the kind of person that others will like and respect. Nobody is unaware of the magic words such as “sorry”, “thank you” , “please” , “excuse me”. We should teach our children to essentially use these words in their
everyday life. These expressions shows the feeling of respect and change the command to request. Additionally these words shows appreciation and are a hallmark of civility. In order to inculcate this habit, Presidium, Raj Nagar organized an activity- A garden of Good Manners for Presidians of Grade 3. Students were told about the importance of manners through role play and other activities. They were given a situation for role play which have multiple opportunities to display good manners like greeting a friend etc. which help them to understand the actual execution and how they can exhibit good manners in real life situations. It was a visual bliss to watch all the students participate enthusiastically in the activity.

PRESIDIANS TAKE INITIATIVE TO SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT ‘SAVE WATER’

Water is the most precious gift of our mother nature. Without water nothing can survive so its conservation is very important. Students of grade 2 enjoyed poster making activity on the topic Save Water. They were filled with joy and happiness to use colour and show their creativity on the paper. Students drew many colourful posters presenting their ideas to save water. The purpose of the activity was to make students aware of the importance of saving water as nowadays many cities are facing water
scarcity and in future, conditions will be worse if we will not think about it. So, through these kind of activities, we can encourage our young generation to take initiatives to save water and also they get different ideas to save water to save life for their future.
