PRESIDIANS DEVELOP KEY MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS WITH RANGOMETRY KITS

In order to promote the use of innovative ways for developing Number Sense, Mathematical Concepts and Reasoning, Presidium Raj Nagar organised a Maths Activity for students of grade 1 wherein students used Rangometry Kits with various shapes. They were asked to identify and describe the properties of simple shapes and patterns. The activity aimed to promote Critical Thinking and Problem Solving in classroom with the help of Jodo Gyan kits. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by students as it fostered their analytical skills. Students felt that learning through this approach was quite an amusing experience and felt confident about the subject, thus eliminating fear of mathematics.

Violence against women is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world. In order to acknowledge the role of women in our society and also to give prominence to their existence, violence against their identity should be brought to a halt. With this thought, a special assembly was organized at Presidium Raj Nagar for the students of grade 6-9 to discuss about the need and importance of women empowerment. The event commenced with the school prayer and thought of the day followed by a skit on empowerment of women. The assembly ended up with a Vote of Thanks by the VP Academics Ms. Shradha Agarwal.

PRESIDIANS CONDUCT AN INFORMATIVE ASSEMBLY ON CONSTITUTION DAY

The preamble of a Constitution sets out the main objectives which the legislature seeks to secure for the people. It expresses what the legislature has dreamt or thought to achieve. In order to achieve something, one must abide by the rules and Regulations. A special assembly was organized at Presidium Raj Nagar for the students of grades 6 to 9 to discuss about the need and importance of having a constitution. The event commenced with the school prayer and thought of the day followed by a skit on enforcement of the constitution. The students had put up an amazing skit which taught them about how a government is elected; the divisions of executive, legislature and judiciary and so on. The entire assembly was a delight to the eyes.

A special assembly was organized at Presidium, Raj Nagar for the students of Grade Nur - III to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. The event commenced with a brief introduction of Guru Nanak Dev Ji wherein the significance of Gurpurab and various rituals associated with the festival were discussed by the confident speakers. Later, the Mool Mantra of Sikh religion, ‘Ik Onkar’ was recited
by young singers. students put up an amazing skit which left the audience spellbound. The entire assembly was a delight to the eyes. The assembly ended up with the Vote of Thanks by the beloved Principal, Ms. Reena Charles.

A celebration in the form of special assemblies is an effort to sensitize students towards living in harmony in a diverse society. Eid, the festival of love and brotherhood was recently celebrated at Presidium Raj Nagar. The celebrations began with a brief introduction highlighting the cultural and social importance of the festival. After a wonderful introduction, students presented a beautiful skit. This was accompanied by an energetic dance performance by the young Presidians. The entire school gathered at the atrium to celebrate the spirit of joy and peace. The assembly ended with students wishing “Eid Mubarak” to all.

World Kindness Day was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of nations’ kindness NGOs. World Kindness Day is celebrated to highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness which binds us. Kindness is a fundamental part of the human condition which bridges the divides of race religion, politics, gender and zip codes. Celebrating the kindness among all human beings, the students of rades Nursery to 3, prepared a special assembly. The school prayer was followed by a dance and song by the young Presidians. The Principal gave a special speech telling the students about the importance of being kind and helping others. students spread the message of kindness and humanity through their posters and activities. They taught us how kindness is an important value for all humans that goes a long way in life.

‘Education is the most powerful weapon that one can use to change the world.’ National Education Day commemorates the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India. Understanding the value and importance of education, the students of Presidium Rajnagar celebrated the National Education Day through a special assembly where the students of grades 4 to 9 put forth their ideas and thoughts; telling how education helps one and all. The assembly started with the school prayer, followed by a speech, song and skit telling the importance of education. Through the assembly, students highlighted how education is like oxygen for the survival of the world and how learning has no age limits.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE SCIENCE WEEK WITH THE THEME ‘FUTURE EARTH’

The Earth is boiling; the ocean is full of plastic; there is a shortage of freshwater; the humans are undermining the living conditions for several species on Earth, and we are facing major social challenges. With an aim to create awareness about these conditions Presidium Rajnagar organized Science Week with the theme ‘Future Earth’, where the students of grades 4 to 9 were provided a platform to showcase their innovative ideas and creativity in the form of 3D posters, models, etc. on topics like ‘Ecosystem, Habitat and Biodiversity’, ‘Consumption and Waste’ and ‘Renewable and Non-renewable Energy’. An array of excellent models and thought provoking posters were made, bringing forth the ideas and talents of the students. The Science Week not only helped in enhancing creativity among students but also the knowledge about the Earth today and possible outcomes in the future.

Children’s Day was celebrated at Presidium with an aim to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children. Presidians also paid homage to ‘Chacha Nehru’ who considered children as the future of the nation and citizens of tomorrow. A special assembly was organized to make the students feel special. The assembly began with prayers thanking the Lord for his blessings, followed by speech, dance, song and skit. Teachers also prepared a special act for the students. The day was all about celebrating childhood and fun. Students danced and sang, celebrating the day with their classmates and teachers.
