An Inter Class General Knowledge Quiz Competition was organized for the students of grades 1 to 3. There were four rounds in the Quiz- Content and Knowledge, Audio-Visual, General awareness and Rapid-Fire. The competition was conducted in order to settle the curiosity of the students and expose them to new facets of the general awareness. Every round was a mixed bag with questions from current affairs, sports, human body parts, etc. The participants took part in the competition with great enthusiasm and zeal.

SPELLATHON: PRESIDIANS DISPLAY THEIR GRASP OVER WORDS & SPELLINGS

Spellathon is a fun activity that makes spellings easy to teach and fun to learn. Keeping this in mind, an Intra-Class Spellathon competition was conducted at Presidium Raj Nagar for the students of grades 6 to 8. The competition aimed at enhancing students’ vocabulary, improving pronunciation and understanding of words. There were six rounds: warm up round, jumbled words, similar words, audio-visual and guess the word. There was a neck to neck competition as all the participants were well prepared, which showed their interest and command over the language.

PRESIDIANS ORGANIZE ASSEMBLY TO HONOUR & PAY TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS

Presidium Raj Nagar celebrated Teachers' Day with great zeal. The school premises were filled with an unusual excitement. The students of senior grades took over the duties of teachers to make their teachers feel special. A special assembly was held where the students paid homage to their teachers through poems and speeches. The teachers were overwhelmed by this sweet gesture of the students with their happiness evident on their smiling faces. The celebration ended on a positive note by the school Principal, who addressed the staff for their exemplary contribution to the school’s phenomenal success.

PRESIDIANS TURN THE STAGE TO VRINDAVAN TO CELEBRATE JANMASHTAMI

Janmashtami is a festival that marks the birth of the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna. To observe this festival, a special assembly was organized by the students of Presidium Raj Nagar. The Presidians of grades Nursery, Prep and 1 presented a lovely dance performance on the life of Lord Krishna. It was followed by a poem recitation. A skit was also presented by the Presidians wherein they enacted various facets of Shri Krishna’s life and turned the stage into Vrindavan. The students clad in traditional dresses, donned the roles of Krishna and Gopikas and were elated to swing the Krishna Jhoola. The assembly concluded with students singing the Arti ‘Kunj Bihari Ji Ki’ and seeking blessings of the Almighty.

It was a memorable day for the proud Presidians when they received the opportunity to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Modi met the young leaders of tomorrow with warmth who tied the sacred thread of Rakhi on his wrist as a mark of respect. The students were elated to meet the Prime Minister and receive his blessings.

FRUIT SALAD ACTIVITY: FUN WAY TO UNDERSTAND THE BENEFITS OF FRUITS

‘Your Body is your temple and you should take care of the body as it is the only place you have to live.’ Keeping this in mind and with an objective to create awareness among the students about the importance of intake of fruit in their diet, Presidium Raj Nagar organized the Fruit Salad Activity. Teachers narrated stories about eating right and encouraged the students to include vegetables and fruits in their meals. The students were conveyed the message that eating fruits is important for the mental as well as physical growth. The students learnt about the taste, smell, colour and texture of various fruits and vegetables in a very fun and interesting way.

PRESIDIANS EXPLORE THE WORLD OF FORESTS THROUGH MAPS

A map helps us identify the geography of an area without visiting it. Presidium Raj Nagar organized a Map based activity for the students of grade 5 to enhance their knowledge about the geographical aspects of forests in India and their types like Deciduous, Mangrove, Thorn etc. They used the political map of India and shaded the different states as per the specific forests found there. The students engaged in a classroom discussion with the teachers about the different communities that inhabit these forests and their livelihood. The activity helped the students to visualize how things on the ground actually look like.

EXTEMPORE: PRESIDIANS ENHANCE THEIR PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS

For being an effective public speaker one must be fluent, erudite and articulate. All of these qualities can be seen during an Extempore and in order to inculcate these qualities among its students, Presidium Raj Nagar organised an Inter-Class ‘English Extempore Competition’ for the students of grade 9. The students had to speak about current affairs and the topics were given on the spot. The judgement criteria included spontaneity, ability to express thoughts, content, fluency, body language and confidence. The young Presidians performed an enthralling skit depicting the historical significance of the festival. A mesmerising dance was also performed which filled the atmosphere with a festive aura. Keeping this in mind, Presidium Raj Nagar organized an inter-class Spell Bee competition. The competition witnessed enthusiastic and lively participants gracefully acing every round. The motive of the competition was to develop students’ interest in enriching their vocabulary and pronunciation skills to become effective and impressive communicators.
