Mother’s Day is a great day to celebrate and show our gratitude and respect for our guardian angels. To honour the day, Presidium Raj Nagar organized a special assembly for the students of grade 1 to 5. The program commenced with an inspiring speech on the significance of a mother’s role in one’s life, followed by a thoughtful skit highlighting the essence of this celebration. The young Presidians were encouraged to come up on stage and share their experiences with their mothers. To hear them express their innate feelings filled the atmosphere with a fusion of emotions!

POEM RECITATION COMPETITION ENHANCES VERBAL SKILLS OF STUDENTS

Poem Recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent talents of the young ones!
Keeping this in mind, Presidium Raj Nagar organized a Poem Recitation Competition for the students of grade pre-primary. The tiny tots proactively participated in the competition with all their confidence and curiosity to stand in front of everybody and recite impeccably to mark their presence. The enthusiastic participants showcased varied cultures and traditions of our country through various poems which focused on ‘unity in diversity’. The eye-catching props added icing to the cake. The primary focus of this activity was to enhance the confidence and speaking skills of students in public. It was an enjoyable and unforgettable experience for all.

LET’S PLAY WITH SHAPES ACTIVITY: WHEN LEARNING BECOMES FUN!

The ability to accurately identify shapes is a foundation for mathematical, analytical and creative skills. In order to build a strong foundation, Let’s Play with Shapes Activity was organized for grade 3 in Presidium, Raj Nagar. Students were engrossed in creating beautiful things with different shapes which showcased how smoothly their skills were being brushed. They made puppets, dolls, joker, houses, etc. This activity aimed at helping the young Presidians to learn basic properties of geometrical figures and it was indeed a fruitful experience for them.

PRESIDIUM RAJ NAGAR HOSTS 'NRITYANJALI’ – THE SPIC MACAY FESTIVAL

On the special ocassion of World Dance Day, Presidium Raj Nagar was soaked in a meditative experience at Nrityanjali - the SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) Festival. Students got a wonderful opportunity to witness a pioneer of Classical Dance - Mahua Shankar Ji performing live in the campus. Mahua Shankar Ji is a classical Kathak danseuse and a disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj who presented a classical amalgamation of music and dance. The artists presented a soulful Kanha Vandana which was followed by a series of Mudras and Bhava-Abhinaya depicted aesthetically by Mahua Ji. The maestros enlightened the students with the essence of rhythm and beats by giving examples from our quotidian life and hence providing an exposure of the ancient dance form in a subtle manner.

In order to demonstrate their support for environmental protection, the students of Presidium Raj Nagar recently celebrated the Earth Day by participating in various fun-filled activities. The young Presidians planted the seeds in the school’s garden and showered their love upon them by watering them. Everyone was delighted and honoured to be a part of this great initiative and the teachers encouraged the students by showing videos based on preservation of the earth and also shared the important points to be kept in mind for the same. The Presidians pledged to keep their surroundings clean and honour the beauty of Mother Earth. It was indeed a fruitful experience for them!

To generate positive statements and thoughts as a mantra to a successful life, the teachers of Presidium Raj Nagar recently organised a 'mirror activity', wherein the students imitated the expressions and gestures of their teachers. The students were taught that our subconscious mind is very susceptible to the things we say out loud. Using this strategy, we can become an individual with a strong character and self-esteem. The activity proved to be fruitful in boosting the confidence and concentration of the students. It also fostered the balance, coordination and gross motor skills of the young Presidians!

Presidium Raj Nagar strongly emphasizes on experiential learning and encourages the use of tools and techniques to implement it. Keeping the same view in mind and in order to promote the use of innovative ways for developing number sense, mathematical concepts and reasoning, a 'maths activity' was recently organised for our grade 3 students. The young Presidians used Dienes Block to solve a division problem, which promoted critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. The fun-filled and knowledgeable activity was thoroughly enjoyed by the students as it eliminated the fear of mathematics from their hearts.

Bringing out the talents and competencies of the young Presidians, the fun-filled activities receive proactive participation. It was a wonderful opportunity for the teachers to know all their Picasso, Einstein and Shakespeare, so that they can provide them wings to achieve their dreams in future.
