PRESIDIANS ENHANCE LANGUAGE SKILLS WITH SENTENCE MAKING ACTIVITY!

‘Children learn as they play, in play they learn how to learn.’ Children are intrigued by nature. To continue with the fun learning experience, a ‘Sentence making activity’ was organized for the students of grade 2 enabling them to form new sentences and improve their innovative skills on the language. This classroom activity allowed students to make choices relevant to their imagination and real life experiences. Students were involved physically, they became more motivated and interested. This activity was focused on enhancing the spelling skills as well as vocabulary. They were able to self-evaluate their skills. It provided an opportunity to the young Presidians to have a positive take on their teachers as well as peers. It was a fruitful experience for the Presidians.

Believing in the concept of learning by doing, Presidium Raj Nagar organised an EVS activity wherein students made beautiful models on various concepts related to the subject. SOCIAL SCIENCE ACTIVITY: A SKIT PRESENTATION ON ‘MARGINALISATION’

Marginalization refers to the insignificant and inappropriate treatment a person or a group receives from others. In a school, it is very important to understand the importance of marginalization. Therefore, to bring forth this understanding among students and to make them realize its importance, student of Grade 8 performed a skit on the topic of marginalization. They performed the activity in groups, taking real life situations to understand the concept as well the importance of marginalization not only in schools but also in other places around them. Using creativity and awareness, students presented the skits beautifully. They carefully chose their dialogues and props to share their views on the topic. It was a great learning experience for the students.

Puppets are a fun way of learning emotions, dialogues and interactions along with enhancing our creativity and talent. And when little fingers become puppets, it adds to the beauty and fun. Students of grades Nursery and Prep performed an activity of making little finger puppets using colored sheets of paper and ribbons. They made various types of puppets like animals, dolls, cartoon characters, etc. This allowed them to have fun and learn how to mimic others. This enhanced their creativity and artistic skills. They were helped by their teachers and peers in making colorful puppets as well as presenting them in front of their peers and teachers.

Magnets are fun to play with and teach us a lot. Even our planet has a magnet within, that aligns itself as north and south poles. The students of grade 6 performed an activity related to magnets with guidance of their science teachers. Magnets of various sizes and types were used to determine their poles and laws of attraction. Students also used various other elements to study what attracts magnets and what repels it. This helped them learn various concepts and laws related to magnets in a fun way.

The two day long gala event, Future Fest 2019, held at Siri Fort Auditorium on 16th & 17th February saw some of the most entertaining and spectacular performances by our young leaders of tomorrow. It was a celebration of the genius, skill, ideas, passion, craft and talents of our young Presidians. The event began with a soulful rendition of Ganesh Vandana followed by performances on various social issues and a tribute to our brave soldiers. The enthusiasm and energy of the young performers could be felt in the auditorium as the audience cheered for the Presidians.
