With utmost devotion and glory, the Presidians of Raj Nagar recently celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti. To mark this propitious occasion, the students came dressed in ethnic Punjabi attire for a special assembly. Beautiful pieces of art related to Guru Nanak Jayanti were used to decorate the atrium. A 'group song' was presented and the ‘Ek Onkar’ prayer was recited by the melodious Presidians, which filled the air with peace and divinity. Spreading the message that God is one, the serene aura left the audience awestruck and mesmerized.

CAN I EAT ACTIVITY: TINY TOTS DISTINGUISH EDIBLE & NON-EDIBLE

We at Presidium, believe in mixing learning with fun and keep organizing playful activities with big lessons. Recently, an enriching and brain-storming club activity for the little students of grades nursery and prep was organized with an aim to make them recognize the things which they can and can't eat. They were shown the real life objects like apple, chips, eraser, pen, peanuts and mobile phones and were asked to differentiate the eatable items from the non-eatable ones. The tiny tots participated enthusiastically and were deeply engrossed in the task. A related worksheet based on the activity was also given to them to do independently. Glad to be a part of this enjoyable activity, the little cherubs happily shared their individual experience with their respective teachers.

The Presidians have set a benchmark for participating in activities in such a way that they not only enjoy but also learn a great deal from them. To give them a creative platform to express their views freely, the Story Tellers Academy at Presidium Raj Nagar recently organized an Inter-Class Debate Competition for students of grades 6 to 8. The participants spoke vehemently on the chosen theme with their perspective regarding the same. They cited reasons and supported their ideas with suitable examples from real life to justify their stand. Each participant asked questions to the opponent on the matter presented by the contestant. Providing the leaders of tomorrow an experience which is conducive to cognitive and presentational skills, the fun-filled debate contest also helped in boosting their confidence to face the audience comfortably.

The grand ceremony, where more than 700 young scholars were congratulated, appreciated her hardwork and passion. Receiving a prestigious certificate of recognition by Mrs. Sudha Gupta, the honourable Chairperson of Presidium, this young chess prodigy was packed with overwhelm and excitement. Known as the 'Lady Viswanathan' of Presidium Raj Nagar, Shitika has won several laurels for the school in various chess competitions and has always made her mentors and parents feel honoured.

Sports inculcate discipline and build sportsmanship to promote playing within the spirits of the game and to deal with both winning and losing with grace. The astounding journey of Presidium Raj Nagar witnessed another milestone with the 3rd Annual Sports Day - Enthusia 2017. Over 200 young Presidians proactively participated in this grand sports event and filled the day with nail-biting excitement. The air was filled with cheering and tons and encouragement for the young athletes, who performed wonderfully in sports challenges like Drink and Run Race, Wear the Ring Race, Balance the Ball Race, Pick the Ball Race and Sprint Race. Felicitating the winners with trophies and certificates, the sports day was an enthralling event for all.

To mark the victory of light over darkness and celebrate the joyous return of Lord Rama after the exile of 14 years, Presidium Raj Nagar recently celebrated Diwali with unmatched pomp and show. The whole school wore a festive look and even the young Presidians brightened up the event with their colourful ethnic attires. Putting up an amazing show including beautiful performances and a wonderful speech, the gifted students left the audience awestruck and mesmerized. The assembly concluded with the powerful message of 'say no to crackers', which gave hope for a greener and cleaner Diwali.

Presidium believes that each child is unique and a storehouse of talent. To give a platform to the students to showcase their talent, to use descriptive language, to practice listening skills and enhance confidence, the Storyteller Academy of Presidium Raj Nagar recently conducted an 'intra-class show and tell competition' for students of grades nursery and prep. The little Presidians came with a variety of toys like dolls, teddy bear, pooh, football, bicycle and car and used it in an innovative way to describe it with lot of confidence, facial expression and voice modulation. The audience was amazed by the way these little champs expressed their thoughts and won every heart. It was a wonderful experience for all.

Keeping this stirring thought in mind, a visit to Sparsh NGO was recently devised for the students of grade 6 by Presidium, Raj Nagar. The visit was aimed to sensitize students to rise above all differences, discover collective humanity through helping others and bring in more sunshine in the world. With vocational training, therapy and expert guidance, Sparsh contributes in transforming the students with special needs into productive members of society. It is a revolutionary organization with a strong message to sensitize the society. Mingling with their special friends from Sparsh, our young Presidians cherished this emotional experience and made memories which are going to stay with them forever.

LET'S EXPERIENCE SEASONS: PRESIDIANS DISCOVER VIVACITY OF NATURE

A season is a division of the year marked by changes in weather, ecology and amount of daylight. To enlighten our young students of grades 1 to 6 on seasons, a club activity 'let's experience seasons' was recently conducted at Presidium, Raj Nagar. The Presidians came adorned according to the theme and got acquainted with various facts related to a season. They were mesmerized to learn the changes in the weather in every season, which helped them to explore the new topics related to Environmental Studies. This activity also helped the students to enhance their communication skills and confidence as they were called out one by one to recite a theme-related rhyme in front of the whole class. Overall, the activity helped the students to increase their knowledge in an interactive and fun-loving manner.

SOULFUL GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATIONS AT PRESIDIUM RAJ NAGAR

To pay tribute to the real hero of the Indian freedom struggle, the Father of the Nation and the real pride of India, Gandhi Jayanti was recently celebrated in the school premises of Presidium, Raj Nagar. The school choir sang beautiful bhajans ‘Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye Je' and 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’, which have inspired many people, and were the favourites of our dear Baapu. The performance filled the whole atmosphere with pious and patriotic waves.The students also got acquainted about the life story of Gandhi Ji through a quiz, based on his life story. Deeply influenced by the Gandhian philosophy, the staff and students realised the importance to put into practice his noble thoughts in their day to day life. One day surely India will live as an epitome of Vasudev Kutumbakam.
