Learning and revising spellings cements the connection between letters and their sounds, which further improves reading and writing fluency of the students. Keeping this in mind, an 'inter-class spellathon competition' was recently conducted at Presidium, Raj Nagar. The five rounds of the competition included warm up, jumbled words, similar words, visual round and guess the word. Witnessed lively and encouraging participation of all the students who came well-prepared for the event, the competition honed the skills of participants. The motive behind the event was to drive the students to take keen interest in enriching their vocabulary and pronunciation skills to become effective and impressive communicators. The event left the Presidians wanting for more such sessions. It was a fruitful experience for every individual.

INTER-CLASS POSTER & SLOGAN WRITING: PROMOTING ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE

To give our young students an opportunity to express their views and thoughts through creative posters with slogans and quotes, an 'inter-class poster and slogan making competition' was recently organized at Presidium, Raj Nagar. Presidians of grades 4 and 5 proactively participated in this interesting contest and the enthusiasm that they had in their presentation was clearly visible. This activity was organized to explore and encourage creativity in children and offer them a platform to showcase their skills. It inspired them to think and work creatively in order to promote artistic excellence. Garnering heaps of appreciation for the students' efforts and initiative, each of the posters was a treat to the eyes.

Nothing beats the summer heat better than the sumptuous sight of mangoes all around. To give the students an opportunity of experiential learning, Presidium Raj Nagar recently celebrated 'Mango Fiesta' - the Mango food festival in grades Nursery and Prep. Students brought delicacies cooked using mango as the main ingredient and relished them too. They not only got acquainted with numerous Mango dishes but also dressed up in beautiful attires according to the theme. Students delved into the world of Mangoes and learnt about their season, colours and forms.

INTER-CLUB SKIT COMPETITION: PRESIDIANS DISPLAY ARTISTIC TALENT

Theatre is a reflection of society. It shows the world its issues and makes people aware of how to fix them. Theatre not only tells stories of the past, but also shows us how to shape the future. Keeping this thought in mind, an Inter-Club Skit Competition was organized at Presidium Raj Nagar. The Presidians belonging to six clubs - Leaders, Victors, Legends, Elites, Maestros and Supremes, showcased their respective piece of act meticulously. Each team had an interesting script to portray, which also imbibed human values in the audience. The skits dealt with various Global Issues like 'gender discrimination', 'child labour', 'violence against women' and 'technology - a blessing or curse'. It was a visual bliss to see them performing confidently with appropriate props. The skit was judged on the basis of concept, expressions, voice modulation, costume and props.

The children of Pre-Primary displayed their love and spirit for their country with a fashion show and came dressed up as freedom fighters. The programme began with the evergreen songs 'we shall overcome' and 'nanha munna rahi' by the children, dressed in different colourful attires. Filled with hope and promise, the students offered gratefulness and respect to the heroes who gave their lives for our freedom, for our country.

Lord Krishna, the avatar who is considered as one of the most popular deities, has shown a spiritual path of wisdom, devotion and discrimination to the world. Janmashtami is the occasion, which celebrates the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna and to mark this blissful day, the students of Presidium Raj Nagar came dressed in the attire of Radha and Krishna. The campus was adorned with beautiful pieces of art related to Janmashtami. A ‘Krishna Jhoola’ and ‘matki’ setup was done, where students and staff came together and sought the blessing of Kanha Ji.

The astounding journey of Presidium witnessed another milestone when to promote swimming as a competitive sport, an Inter-Presidium Swimming Championship was recently organized at Presidium, Raj Nagar. A huge success, this grand championship witnessed humongous participation of 157 students from 17 Presidium branches. The talented participants came together to display their magnificent swimming skills in varied styles spread across 42 different events. The competition was held across 3 age categories and the winners from each category were awarded with a certificate of recognition and a trophy.
Amid the respected School Heads, the championship was also graced by distinguished chief guests, Mr. Partha Pratin Majumdaar (Head Coach - NSA), Mr. Rajkumar (Vice President - Swimming Federation of India) and guest of honour, Mr. D. S Chikkara (Chief Coach of Swimming - SAI). Mrs. Reena Charles, Head of Presidium Raj Nagar, congratulated and praised all the students who participated in the competition with kind words of appreciation.

The key to a greener planet is in our hands!
To make our dear students realize the importance of this responsibility, a Paper Bag Making Club Activity was recently organized at Presidium, Raj Nagar. Recyclable, reusable and biodegradable, paper bags are a big initiative towards a healthy environment. Our talented Presidians from grade 3 took part in this wonderful activity proactively. It was amazing to witness their creativity in designing paper bags, which are undoubtedly a better alternative to plastic bags. The students used waste material like old newspapers and magazines for creating beautiful and innovative paper bags. Thoroughly enjoyed by all, this fun-filled activity served the purpose of sensitizing students about saving the environment.
