STUDENTS STRENGTHEN THEIR GRAMMAR WITH PREPOSITION ACTIVITY

A preposition is a word used to link nouns, pronouns, or phrases to other words within a sentence. They act to connect the people, objects, time, and locations of a sentence. Prepositions are usually short words, and they are normally placed directly in front of nouns. Students of Presidium participated in an activity on Prepositions. The objective of the activity was to clear the concept of Prepositions. Students took their favourite toys and pillow and placed them according to directions given by the teacher. The students were quite enthusiastic about the whole activity. They learned the new concept through the experiential learning.

ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY: LET’S CREATE A GREENER TOMORROW

Every year, December 14 is celebrated as Energy Conservation Day to raise awareness of the importance of energy conservation for the present and future generations. The conservation of energy is an important step that needs to be taken to ensure that the coming generations live a brighter tomorrow. Keeping this into consideration Presidium emphasized the judicious use of energy to minimize wastage and to save sources for the future through poster-making activity, where they advocated the importance of non-renewable resources.

UNICEF DAY: LET’S PROMOTE EVERY CHILD’S RIGHT, EVERY DAY

The United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) works in over 190 countries and territories to save children's lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. Students of Presidium celebrated UNICEF DAY together to fight against the COVID -19 crises. Students not only joined together in fundraising for the vulnerable children, but they also took the initiative of donating necessities like masks, sanitizer, hand wash, etc. Students wrote slogans/ poems / made posters on the Rights of every child seeking Safe Shelter/ Proper Nutrition/ Child Protection from Disasters and Conflicts/ Equality/Education/ Social Inclusion. These activities not only created awareness about the role of UNICEF in societies worldwide but at the same time, students also realized how children's rights are violated in different parts of the world and how they can be protected and addressed.

STUDENTS SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS

The students of Presidium celebrated Human Rights Day to sensitize people around, of the various rights that are needed for leading a dignified life and also of the 30 Human Rights articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They came up with interesting suggestions for celebrating Human Rights Day. Videos were created by the students to explain all the 30 Human Rights. These activities not only helped students gain a substantial amount of information, but also helped them develop other essential skills like collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and communication. The entire exercise gave them a feeling of achievement and also gave them simple and effective tools to tackle global issues.

PRESIDIANS SALUTE OUR SOLDIERS FOR THEIR HEROIC SERVICE

Presidians conducted special activities on Indian Flag Day. They shared the importance and motive of this day. It has become a tradition to commemorate this day as an honour to the soldiers, airmen, and sailors of India. On this day funds are collected for the welfare and the rehabilitation of widows and ex-servicemen. The students paid tribute to the courageous and martyred soldiers. They also highlighted that the Indian army is the cause for peace in the nation and their contribution is very valuable. They resolved that they would be contributing generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Teachers appreciated the efforts of the students for remembering great heroes who sacrificed their lives for their nation and it also strengthened the cultural bond among them.

Students of Presidium participated in various activities on account of National Pollution Control Day. Presidians exhibited their creativity by drawing different art forms. Students depicted green and polluted globe in various ways. Many of them also wrote the slogans for their drawing. Wonderful ideas and critical thinking were exhibited through this occasion. Students were given the knowledge of how to manage and control the Industrial Disaster as well as prevention of the pollution of different types such as water, air, and soil.

STUDENTS MARK NATIONAL CONSTITUTION DAY WITH SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

The adoption of our constitution was celebrated in Presidium as the National Constitution Day. A special activity was conducted on the significance of the Constitution Day as well as to reiterate the great work done by the revered members of the Constituent Assembly. Presidians understood the importance of being a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, and Republic country and also urged the students to abide by the constitution and feel proud to be a citizen of a great country.

STUDENTS ENHANCE THEIR GENERAL KNOWLEDGE WITH QUIZ COMPETITION

“Information is common, Knowledge is valuable, wisdom is precious.”

It is true that knowledge comes with a deep understanding of the topic and quizzes give us a deep understanding. In order to promote healthy competition and build general awareness, a Quiz Competition on different themes like the Indian States and Capitals, Union Territories, Monuments of India, Writers, Currencies, Flags of different countries, and Current Affairs was organized by ‘The Storytellers’ Academy of Mass Communication. The quiz was in two rounds through MS Teams for both online and offline students. The young Presidians enthusiastically participated and proved that even during this pandemic situation they are learning and expanding their knowledge. It was a new experience for the students as this time they attempted the quiz in a hybrid model and had different rounds.

STORYTELLING GIVES WINGS TO OUR PRESIDIANS IMAGINATION

A wise man once said, “After nourishment, shelter, and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.”

It’s the stories that give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of our physical world and into the land of fairies, dragons, and wishing trees. It is in our imagination that we embrace things and situations that we shy away from the real world. Since time immemorial, storytelling has been an integral part of our childhood. To keep the tradition going and to incite curiosity and the love for reading in children, a storytelling competition was held by Presidium. The young, enthusiastic storytellers armed with their props came forth with wonderful tales. While some stories gave them food for thought and some reinforced moral values. The stories were judged based on the expression, confidence, and presentation skills of the children.
