On 23rd April 2021, Presidians presented a thought provoking assembly on the occasion of World Book Day. It is quite unfortunate that with the rapid growth of electronic technology the reading habit, particularly among the young, is declining at an alarming rate. The assembly addressed this concern and emphasised upon the power of reading and the importance of books in our lives. Learners encouraged their friends to inculcate the habit of reading. They recited quotes from famous works of poets like Wordsworth, Shelly and Mirza Galib. They even prepared bookmarks with inspirational quotes. Overall, it was an enriching experience.

Baisakhi is an important harvest festival of Punjab that has religious value as well, and Presidium celebrated it with great enthusiasm. All of the students enjoyed dancing on Bhangra beats and were shown a small animated video of the festival. The colourful attires made it more beautiful. They were also made aware of the importance of this festival by showcasing the Punjabi culture. The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise the children of their culture and heritage. The celebration of this festival marked the beginning of festivities at our school. These engaging and fun-filled activities were planned in such a manner that students were feeling confident, connected to each other, and as deeply valued members of our school community right from the very first day.
